CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Recently, the reporter learned from Chongqing Communications Administration that since the implementation of “14th Five-Year Plan”, Chongqing has achieved significant results in the construction of new digital infrastructure. As of the end of June this year, there are 24 5G base stations per 10,000 people, and the development of 5G has remained in the first echelon in China.

New digital infrastructure, including 5G networks, gigabit optical networks, data centers, industrial internet, cloud computing, etc., provides efficient, secure, and intelligent information services for all walks of life, and promotes industrial upgrading and innovative development, and is also the strategic cornerstone for promoting the digital transformation of economic society. Since the implementation of “14th Five-Year Plan”, Chongqing's information and communication industry has vigorously implemented the three-year action plan of "Strengthening the Foundation and Empowering" such as new data centers, IPv6, green and low-carbon, as well as actions such as the "Bringing Glory to the Mountain City·Light Chasing Action", in order to promote the layout optimization, function improvement, and integrated development of new digital infrastructure.

In terms of 5G, as of the end of June this year, there are 24 5G base stations per 10,000 people, and a total of 514 5G industry virtual private networks have been built; the number of 5G mobile terminal users reached 15.826 million, an increase of 108.23% compared to the end of 2020.

In terms of gigabit optical network, Chongqing's fixed broadband network has gradually achieved a leap from 100M to gigabit in recent years. As of the end of June, the number of gigabit broadband users in Chongqing has reached 1.5077 million; Jiangbei District, Yubei District, and Liangjiang New Area have successfully established national "gigabit cities".

In terms of industrial internet, as of the end of June this year, the national top-level node for industrial internet identification analysis (Chongqing) has been connected to 45 secondary nodes and nearly 22,600 enterprise nodes, serving 10 provinces, regions, and cities in the western region. The number of identity registrations has reached 23.3 billion in total, and the number of identity resolution has reached 20.17 billion in total.

In terms of data centers, in recent years, Chongqing's information and communication industry has actively participated in the national “East Digital and West Computing" project, to accelerate the construction of the national integrated computing power network Chengdu-Chongqing National Hub Node (Chongqing). As of the end of June this year, a total of 15 super large data centers and 11 large data centers have been designed and built in the three starting areas of Chongqing data center cluster.
