CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- To support the "Starry Sky" action plan for Chongqing's software and information service industry, Chongqing's information technology service industry increased CNY1.17 billion in tax and fee reductions and deferred tax refunds between January and June, according to Chongqing Taxation Bureau on September 11.

Since this year, China has continued, optimized, and improved several tax support policies, supported the information technology service enterprises to strengthen research and development, and promoted the development of the software and information service industry in Chongqing. Data show that at present, Chongqing's electronic information industry has a total of 60,000 tax-related business entities, including 55,000 software and information technology service enterprises and 5,000 electronic information manufacturers, which form an electronic information industry cluster with a complete system combining software and hardware. The software industry has preliminarily formed a whole industry chain covering upstream integrated circuit design, basic software development, mid-stream system integration, technical service for the Internet of Things, downstream information technology consultation, application software development, and digital content service.

“Tax departments will continue to implement preferential tax policies, optimize service measures, encourage and support core industries such as mid-stream and upstream integrated circuit design, information system integration and Internet of Things technology so as to improve the overall industrial capacity.” According to the Chongqing Taxation Bureau, efforts will be made to focus on Chongqing's key industry chain mapping such as automotive electronics, high-end equipment, and biomedicine, and contribute to the in-depth integration of the industry and the software industry, and promote the intelligent manufacturing and the digital economy to new heights.
