CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As the 5th International Day of Sign Languages, the first KFC "Angel Restaurant" settled in Yuzhong District of Chongqing, which is also the 100th KFC restaurant in Chongqing.

In 1997, KFC entered Chongqing and opened its first restaurant in Huixian Building, Yuzhong District. Up to now, KFC stores have spread all over 31 districts and counties in Chongqing, and the number has hit 100. To commemorate the milestone, the 100th KFC store located in Chongqing Times Paradise Walk, Longfor, Yuzhong District has also been invested with special meaning-the first KFC "Angel Restaurant" in Chongqing.

"Angel" refers to the workers in restaurant with hearing or mental impairment.

The "Angel Restaurant" that helps the disabled was founded by KFC in 2012. By combining the software and hardware, such as transforming restaurant equipment and improving management mode, the restaurant continuously provides equal employment opportunities for disabled youth all over the country. The restaurant's characteristic of "working with ordinary employees and providing services to all consumers" has opened the door for disabled young people to fully integrate into society and deliver their value.

As of June 30, 2023, KFC has set up 36 angel restaurants in 32 cities across China, where nearly 200 proficient disabled employees are serving customers with the heart and skills every year.

At the inauguration ceremony, representatives of the Municipal Commission of Commerce, Chongqing Disabled Person’s Employment Service Center, Commission of Commerce of Yuzhong District and the Disabled Persons' Federation of Yuzhong District unveiled the restaurant.
