This is the first gold medal for Chongqing in the Hangzhou Asian Games won by Liu Jiangchi, an athlete from Chongqing Shooting and Archery Sports Management Center.

Clay pigeon shooting is a shooting game including trap shooting and skeet shooting. It involves using a shotgun to hit a flying target. A skeet shooter is required to hit the target at different positions in the fan-shaped shooting range.

Liu Jiangchi was the fifth player of the fourth group in morning competitions. He loaded bullets and shot at the target decisively, projecting an air of calm.

The 31-year-old Liu Jiangchi has been engaged in skeet training for 15 years.

Huang held her son in her arms and watched the games at the side of the field. She sometimes pointed to Liu Jiangchi and said to her son, “See? It’s your Daddy.”

Though the young child might not understand the game, Huang Yi believed that the presence of family members would give Liu Jiangchi strength.

During the break, Liu Jiangchi sent a “bomb” emojis to Huang Yi. This is their secret code, implying that Liu Jiangchi is going to release his strength.

As the teammate and lifelong companion of Liu Jiangchi, Huang Yi understands her husband well. She said, Lu Jiangchi would fight for the mixed team competitions in National Games after returning to Chongqing. The competition in the national team is fierce, and he has shoulder injuries. All these factors put him under great pressure. “He works really hard. Whenever he makes mistakes, he has himself to blame.”

After the game ends on September 29, Liu Jiangchi will go to Beijing to prepare for the game. He will participate in the Asian Championships in South Korea in October to obtain a slot in the Olympic Games.
