130 scenic spots in Chongqing receive 8.549 million tourists during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday has come to an end. During this period, the number of overnight visitors in Chongqing reached 2,318,200, showing an increase of 14.8% over 2019, according to the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Commission.
Data from Chongqing Intelligent Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television Cloud Platform show that as of 18:00 on October 6, 130 scenic spots in Chongqing have received 8.549 million tourists during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday.
Attractive scenic spots were popular among tourists, and 5A tourist attractions became the preferred destinations for cross-provincial travel
During the holiday, the urban tourist attractions received a large number of tourists. For example, Ciqikou Ancient Town had 909,000 tourists, Hongyadong had 878,000 tourists, and Chongqing Yangtze River Cableway received 110,300 tourists.
5A tourist attractions became the preferred destinations for inter-provincial and group tours. Statistics show that Wulong Karst Scenic Area received 504,000 tourists, Qianjiang Zhuoshui Scenic Area received 261,000 tourists, Nanchuan Golden Buddha Mountain received 119,000 tourists, Fengjie White Emperor City – Qutang Gorge Scenic Area received 112,000 tourists, and Youyang Taohuayuan Scenic Area received 100,000 tourists.
Theme parks were popular among young people and families during the holiday. The period saw 283,000 tourists in Chongqing Zoo, 135,200 tourists in Chongqing Garden Expo Park, and 124,600 tourists in Chongqing Happy Valley.
It is worth mentioning that the historical and cultural scenic spots have become a window for non-local tourists to gain a deeper insight into Chongqing. During the holiday, the Hongyan Scenic Area received 372,200 tourists, the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum received 116,000 tourists, and the Dazu Rock Carvings received 104,000 tourists.

More than 200 cultural and tourism activities and 70 measures were launched in Chongqing to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day, including the second Chongqing Urban Arts Festival, the 15th Western China ACG Festival, and the opening ceremony for the 2023 Chongqing Autumn Tourism. All districts and counties of Chongqing diversified the cultural and tourism products, offering more travel options for tourists.
The intangible cultural heritage exhibition in Yongchuan, the ancient and art painting exhibition in Changshou District, a series of activities to celebrate the double festivals in Rongchang District, the Longshui Lake Music Festival in Dazu District, and the 2023 FUN Miao Feast for Mid-Autumn and National Day in Pengshui County attracted 1,123,300 tourists during the holiday.
Fuling Maxin Wine Town launched a great variety of popular entertainment projects, such as Starry Night Camping B&B, Energetic Paragliding, Roof Walk, and 6+1 Starry Night Restaurant, attracting tourists of all ages.
