CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Statistics show that during the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday this year, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport made 7,505 inbound and outbound flight trips and received 1.176 million passengers during the holiday (starting from September 29 to October 6). The average number of daily passengers in the airport during the period hit a record high of nearly 147,000. The number of daily passengers on October 4 and October 5 exceeded 150,000. As of October 6, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has handled nearly 34.5 million passengers for the year, exceeding the level of the same period in 2019.

From the perspective of passenger sources, most domestic tourists in Chongqing during the holiday were coming from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Jinan, Haikou, and Xiamen.

Before the holiday started, the airport had resumed the flight route from Chongqing to Doha. The route has three flights per week, which are operated by Qatar Airways. In terms of outbound travel, the double festival holiday saw a large number of Chongqing tourists traveling to Bangkok, Singapore, and Qatar.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has opened 17 international passenger flight routes and operated 85 flights per week. In the future, the airport will resume more international air routes and further improve the international and regional flight route network. In terms of multimodal transport, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has set up city terminals in Luzhou, Zigong, Nanchong, Wulong, Chongqingxi Railway Station, Chongqingbei Railway Station, Shapingba Railway Station, Fengjie Railway Station, and Raffles in Yuzhong District, allowing passengers to enjoy boarding pass handling, baggage checking, flight inquiry, high-speed rail ticket purchasing, exclusive lounge, shuttle buses and other services in the city terminal.
