College students in Chongqing make constructions on campus
CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "These are all built by our students!" A few days ago, several constructions were made in Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology in less than ten days, attracting the attention of teachers and students. These constructions are students’ works for the Building Construction Festival of the university.
The festival is a brainstorming session relying on the graduation designs from six major universities in the southwest region, said Hu Xin, the person in charge of the Building Construction Festival of Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology. It took more than one month for students to design and build the constructions. There will be nearly one week for construction and improvement after the opening ceremony.
We saw on the campus that the students were utilizing all kinds of building materials to achieve the wildest construction dreams that they ever imagined.
Various types of constructions can be found on the campus: a construction made of holographic paper that refracts light and some wood-made constructions of different heights that look like rolling hills…
A total of nine teams from the School of Architecture and Civil Engineering of Chongqing Metropolitan College of Science and Technology have qualified for the final competition. The event is a mode of practical education that aims to push forward communication and cooperation in practical teaching between universities and enterprises in southwest China, and promote academic research and practical innovation, said Hu Xin. She hoped that the event would produce more talent and provide intellectual support for the development of the construction industry.
"These constructions may be seen in our daily lives someday!" Hu Xin hoped that students would apply what they have learned to all walks of life and learn more from others’ comments and suggestions. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
