CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group, in the first three quarters of this year, the group's investment in urban public transport infrastructure totaled CNY32.69 billion, and the overall investment totaled CNY33.38 billion. It is estimated that the investment for this year will exceed CNY42 billion. 

Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group has accelerated the rail transport construction according to the annual construction plan. In the four-phase rail transit construction project, the two tunnels of the Yudaishan – Panxi section of Line 4, the left tunnel of the Chongqingdong – Changsheng Laojie section of Line 6, 94% of the tunnel excavation and support installation for the Tongluoshan Tunnel of Line 15 have been accomplished; tunnel boring machines have started tunneling for the right route of the Zhuyuancun – Chongqingdong section of Line 24; the middle and lower part of the tunnel boring machine ‘Yujianghao’ has been successfully hoisted into the well in the Chongqing Medical University Station – Nanbin Road Station section of Line 27; Line 18 has started trial operation.

In addition, the southern section of Phase 2 of Line 10 and the middle section of Phase 1 of Line 5 carried out trial operations, laying a solid foundation for the later operation.

The supporting projects in the Chongqingdong Railway Station area have started in an orderly manner, with 70% of the main roads and 66% of the branch road networks finished. Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group has completed international program solicitation for commercial land, made detailed design plans for cultural and sports land, and signed a framework cooperation agreement with Singapore ERENNIAL.

In terms of urban public transport services, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group has optimized 185 bus routes, opened 24 new bus routes connecting with CRT (including 11 lane bus routes), made 15 bus stops more age-friendly, and launched eight new bus routes to facilitate the travel for elderly people.

To increase passengers’ sense of happiness and security, the company has added 17 new entrances and exits of rail stations, opened all urban underpasses, implemented "strong cold" and "weak cold" carriages, and equipped the entrances and exits of the stations of Line 2 with canopies.
