CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2023 China (Chongqing) Square Dancing Competition sponsored by the Social Sports Guidance Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, National Fitness Promotion and Steering Committee, and Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Sports kicked off at Wuhuan Square of Chongqing Olympic Sports Center on the evening of October 21, and about 400 dancing participants of 20 Chongqing and Sichuan teams participated in this Competition, bringing a charming cultural and visual feast for citizens.

After a brief opening ceremony, this Competition kicked off with a unique performance of the teams’ dancing. At the competition site, 20 participating teams from all over the country performed with beautiful dancing postures, light paces and the most dynamic performance ways.

Chongqing Shapingba Zhuguang Art Troupe was founded in 1999, and its head introduced that it was consisted of more than 30 persons at an average age of 60 years old, they came together because of their common interest, and they had won the national and municipal competition honor for many times. At the competition site, their performance was unique and won bursts of applause from audiences.

After the fierce competition on that evening, Rongchang Yiyang Dance Troupe won the first-place prize, Shapingba Tianxingqiao Qunying Art Troupe won the second-place prize, and SISU Line Dance Team won the third-place prize. (Translated by Liu Hongyan, Fathom Language Limited)
