CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Night-time economy is a new symbol of urban vitality, as well as the new engine for new consumption modes.

Chongqing has carried out the Sleepless Nights Festival since 2020, diversifying night-time consumption activities to release a new driving force for Chongqing's night-time consumption, according to the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Incorporating the five patterns of night-time economy, namely catering, entertainment, shopping, appreciation, and health care, the Sleepless Nights Festival in Chongqing this year has cooperated with more than 210000 online and offline merchants to carry out more than 200 night-time consumption activities, attracting 150 million participants. The total number of topics related to the festival on the Internet exceeded 1.2 billion.

In September, the index for city night-time economic prosperity released by the TikTok Giant Engine City Research Institute showed that Chongqing ranked first in terms of night economic prosperity. Chongqing has ranked first for more than 20 consecutive months in the list of beautiful cities in China released by TikTok. Besides, Chongqing has also been listed as one of China’s top ten influential cities in the night-time economy for four years in a row.

Chongqing will further build a batch of new landmarks of high quality and launch new night-time consumption activities around the five patterns of the night-time economy to boost the night-time economy, enhance the reputation and brand influence of "Sleepless Chongqing", and provide strong support for the development of an international consumption center, according to the Promotion Department of the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Recently, a wide range of night-time activities have been carried out in Chongqing. The 2023 Fantasy Night Event – Traveling through Time, hosted by the Commerce Commission of Fuling District, Chongqing Association of Economic Development at Night, and Meixin Wine Town, will start on the evening of November 4 in Meixin Wine Town, where the three themed fairs will offer visitors a magical journey of Bayu culture.

According to the organizers, the "Traveling through Time" fairs, held once a year, have been successfully held three times. This year, the scenes and entertainment events have been upgraded.
