CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Wang Ruolan, the "wind-chasing girl" from Chongqing, realized her three wishes in Xiamen: to see the sea, win the championship, and become the best scorer!

On the afternoon of October 29, Wang Ruolan’s football team, the girls' football team of Sanhe Town Primary School in Shizhu County, Chongqing, won the championship of the second Wind Chasing League Finals. The team, which has worked hard in the mountainous area of Chongqing for 10 years, won its first national championship.

The competition was hosted by the China Youth Development Foundation and Ant Foundation. As the first national rural campus women's football league, the second Wind Chasing League attracted more than 60 women's football teams supported by the "Wind Chasing Program" rural campus women's football support project in the early stage. The plan has currently supported 70 rural campus women's football teams nationwide.

After 152 regional competitions, 12 rural campus women's football teams from Yunnan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Xinjiang, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Guangdong, Inner Mongolia and other places stood out and advanced to the finals in Xiamen to compete for their highest honor.

After two days of fierce competition, Sanhe Town Primary School from Shizhu County, Chongqing, and Yuanbao Primary School from Dafang County, Guizhou, advanced to the final on the afternoon of October 29. Sanhe Town Primary School won the final 2-1, and the team's striker Wang Ruolan became the top scorer in the final with 11 goals.

Ma Bolin, Director of Sanhe Town Primary School from Shizhu County, Chongqing, said with tears in his eyes: "I am so excited! This is the first national championship we have won since we started to develop the campus women's football team in 2013. Our children have persisted for 10 years and finally realized their dream. Thanks to the Wind Chasing Project for providing such a good chance for children to broaden their horizons and reach the top podium. We will work harder to live up to everyone’s expectations.” (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
