CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On October 31, under the theme of “Belt and Road Initiative International Students Learning about Yubei”, Southwest University of Political Science & Law arranged a walking tour of the Yubei Planning Exhibition Gallery and Xiantao International Big Data Valley for more than 50 international students from 14 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, such as Albania, Thailand, Laos, Malaysia, Ethiopia, and Cambodia.

“This is Xiantao International School. With a building area of 140,000 square meters, the school focuses on training professionally skilled personnel, versatile talent, and industrial elites...” After listening to the introduction in Xiantao International Big Data Valley, quite a few students marveled at Chongqing.

LEKA RAMAZAN, a PhD student in Human rights Law studying in Grade 2022 at Southwest University of Political Science & Law told us that he gained a better understanding of the rapid development of digital Chongqing through the activity. He believes that the Belt and Road Initiative has brought new education opportunities, and educational exchanges have built a bridge between countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. The Belt and Road initiative made them attached to China and enabled more foreign friends to know about China.

“We hope that the event will enable international students to feel the changes in China’s all-round social and economic development. These international students come from 14 countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. They are very interested in China's current economic transformation,” said Professor Cheng De’an from Southwest University of Political Science & Law. He added that as a teacher teaching Overview of China and Contemporary China courses, he often introduces the theory of China's high-quality economic development to students in class. However, these theories cannot tell us how China's economy is transforming and how to improve product competitiveness in the process of digitalization. That’s why they arrange a walking tour to enable students to learn about the relationship between digital Chongqing and Chongqing's automotive industry, and how digital Chongqing promotes the upgrading of the automotive industry.
