CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The first Belt and Road Conference on Science and Technology Exchange (BRST) opened in Chongqing on November 6. It is the first major sub-section event after the third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was held.

The first BRST was co-organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People´s Republic of China, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the China Association for Science and Technology, the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, and the Sichuan Provincial People’s Government, and supported by the National Development and Reform Commission.

With the theme of “Together for Innovation, Development for All”, the conference systematically summarises the achievements of cooperation over the past decade, releases the first important report on science, technology, and innovation cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, and holds the first time the Belt and Road Ministerial Meeting for Science, Technology, and Innovation.

Besides, five themed events, such as the Achievements Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Innovation Cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, the Forum for Young Scientists under the Belt and Road Initiative, and three roundtable meetings, including Industrial Transformation and Enterprise Technological Innovation, were held in the conference.

More than 300 important foreign guests from over 70 countries, regions, and international organizations attended the conference, including nearly 40 Nobel Prize winners, foreign academicians, experts and scholars, and presidents of famous foreign universities.
