CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 6th China International Import Expo started at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (Shanghai) on November 5. With the theme of “Exquisite stone carvings are telling stories”, Chongqing’s Dazu exhibited a wide range of tourism products and cultural and creative products in the China Tourism Exhibition Area in the Cultural Exchange Section of the Expo, showcasing to the world the eastern esthetics with Dazu characteristics.

The Dazu Pavillion, consisting of three sections, namely Harvest in Dazu, Rock Carvings in Dazu, and Moments in Dazu, displayed the cultural and tourism resources, intangible cultural heritage, fine cultural and creative products, and the development of different industries in Dazu through physical objects, pictures, and videos.

When stepping into the Dazu Pavillion, you will be greeted by a stone wall embedded with more than 20 stone sculptures which are created based on the classic statues of Dazu rock carvings, such as Cat and Mouse, Cattle Herding, and Flute Girl. Those works are favored by many cultural and art lovers.

In the Cave Simulation Exhibition Area, the art display simulates the Baoding Mountain embedded with Buddhist cliff carvings in Dazu. Longshui Hardware Tool Group displayed various kinds of handicrafts and hardware products, showing the long-standing craftsmanship and intelligence of the Dazu people, and attracting waves of exhibitors and visitors.

The booths in the Intangible Cultural Heritage Experience Area are filled with visitors. A lot of intangible cultural heritage works, like handicrafts weaved with palm fiber, harmonia incense, and paper cutting, a series of “Dazu Lion” cultural and creative products, “Ode to Beautiful Ladies” garage kits, and several spreaders of different cultural and artistic skills are favored by most visitors.
