CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 2023 KAILAS National Climbing Star for the Future (Chongqing) Competition was held in Huayan Bihuwang National Rock Climbing Demonstration Park in Jiulongpo District, Chongqing Municipality on November 12.

Rock climbing plays a positive role in the all-round development of young people. Therefore, Chongqing and Jiulongpo District have spared no efforts in promoting the integration of sports and education. In 2018, the Rock Climbing Training and Management Center of the General Administration of Sports of China, Chongqing Sports Bureau, Jiulongpo District, and Chongqing Bihuwang Rock Climbing Club worked together to set up a national climbing training team in Chongqing. In the past five years, they have found a group of outstanding climbing athletes such as Mei Yuping, Fan Jingyue, Wang Bingtang, and Xu Qinchun, who have achieved excellent results in national and municipal events.

At the same time, they found potential climbing athletes in primary and secondary schools in different districts and counties. Yucai Experimental School, Yuxi Middle School, Yunyang Hongshi Middle School, and Kaizhou Longying Wenwu School have not only built rock walls, set up school teams and a long-term training system but also supplied talented climbing athletes for the national climbing training team in Chongqing.
