CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing won 7 gold medals, 20 silver medals, and 20 bronze medals in the first Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China.

More than 20,000 athletes in 101 delegations participated in the games, making it the largest comprehensive sports event for domestic students. 526 athletes in 52 teams won 6 gold medals, 9 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals in 9 campus competition events, and 1 gold medal, 11 silver medals, and 10 bronze medals in 20 open competition events.

It is worth mentioning that Chen Mingjie, a student from the College of Physical Education of Southwest University, won 2 gold medals in men’s 100-meter freestyle swimming (Group B) and men’s 50-meter freestyle swimming (Group B).
