Searches on "Chongqing specialties" increases by 264% since this October

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Special products of Chongqing were favored by consumers across the country during the “11.11” shopping festival.

“More than half of the hot pot soup bases are made by Chongqing manufacturers.” Data shows that the Qiaotou Hot Pot Soup Base, with enticing spiciness and aroma, became the most popular product in Chongqing during the period.

Date from the Meituan platform shows that during the “11.11” shopping festival, the searches on “Chongqing Qiaotou Hot Pot Soup Bases” in the Meituan platform increased by 359.4% year-on-year. Chongqing, Chengdu, Xi'an, Beijing, and Jincheng were the top five cities searched.

"My out-of-town roommates love to eat hot pot. Since they had asked me to recommend some authentic Chongqing specialties, I ordered a Qiaotou Hot Pot Soup Base online and invited them to have a hot pot together. He said it was really delicious,” said Yang Fan from Chongqing.

In addition to Qiaotou Hot Pot Soup Base, Fuling Pickled Mustard Tuber, Chen Changyin Mahua, Zhang Yazi, and other long-established brands in Chongqing have supplied a wide range of products on retail platforms, helping the local brands in Chongqing to open up new markets in China.

The emerging innovative consumption formats demonstrate the vitality of Chongqing's economic development. In recent years, Chongqing has made initial achievements in building an international consumption center and developing the high-quality Chongqing specialties of time-honored brands. So far, Chongqing has created a total of 18 China time-honored brands and 291 Chongqing time-honored brands.

In addition to local time-honored brands, many other brands are speeding up efforts to open up new markets for Chongqing’s special products. For example, Meijian Green Plum Wine, Yuxiong Strange-taste Horsebean, and Zhangfei Dengying Beef are seeking innovative scenarios such as instant retail to meet diversified consumer demands.

Data show that since October this year, searches related to "Chongqing specialties" in the comments and posts on Dianping increased by 821% year-on-year, and the searches on the Meituan platform increased by 264%. The searches on “Chongqing specialty store takeaway" increased by 95 times year-on-year. 95 times.

Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Commerce, believes that the fundamental way out for time-honored brands lies in integrity and innovative development, which is also the secret for some time-honored brands to survive and thrive.
