CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to the Municipal Economic and Information Commission and the Notice on Launching the First Batch of Pilot Zones for Full Electrification of Vehicles in Public Domain jointly issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Transport (hereinafter referred to as the Notice) recently, Chongqing will intensify the promotion of full electrification of vehicles in public domain and plan to build a pilot city for full electrification of vehicles in public domain by 2025.

According to the person in charge of the Municipal Economic and Information Commission, Chongqing will "start" from four aspects: "comprehensively promoting the process of vehicle electrification, improving the infrastructure construction of charging and replacing electricity, promoting the innovative application of new technologies and new models, and optimizing and perfecting the policy guarantee system".

In promoting the process of vehicle electrification, Chongqing will accelerate the promotion of official business vehicles, sanitation vehicles, airport vehicles and vehicles in other specific fields while consolidating the promotion results in the fields of urban bus, taxi, online car-hailing and postal express delivery, and promote the electrification of vehicles in various fields by classification and stages.

Equipped with adequate charging and replacing infrastructure is the premise of implementing vehicle electrification. To this end, Chongqing will encrypt the fast charging network layout of expressway service areas, national and provincial trunk highways, tourist attractions, etc., and realize "full coverage of districts and counties" and "full coverage of towns and villages". It is planned to build more than 240,000 charging piles and 200 converter stations by 2025.

Chongqing will also promote the innovative application of new technologies and models, including speeding up the construction of "optical storage, charging and replacing" demonstration stations, charging (replacing), storage and parking integrated stations, etc., and continuously optimize and improve the relevant policy guarantees for the full electrification of vehicles in the public domain.

According to the person in charge of the Municipal Economic and Information Commission, up to now, Chongqing has built 2,966 charging stations, 197,100 charging piles, and 141 converter stations, ranking second among the pilot cities for replacing in China; charging facilities have achieved global coverage in Chongqing, and the coverage rate of fast charging network in expressway service area is nearly 90%.
