CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Contestants cleaved through the waves on the Wanzhou section of the Yangtze River on November 26, striving to be the first to cross the Yangtze River.

The 2023 Chongqing Wanzhou Swimming across the Yangtze River Invitational kicked off on Sunday, attracting more than 3,000 participants from 32 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China.

In addition to the invitational competition, the National Padding-board Challenge and the National Kayaking Challenge were held in Wanzhou District. These events aim to promote the culture, characteristics, and local specialties of Wanzhou, lay a solid foundation for the establishment of “the city of water sports”, and build a brand of high-quality sports and tourism events in China to empower the economic and urban development.
