CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing has taken the “four-firsts” (namely, the first regional store of a famous brand, the launch of new products, the first show of a brand, and the first brand that leads the industry) as a strong engine to activate new dynamics of consumption, focused on brand improvement and expansion, and increased the economic support for famous brands to establish their first store in Chongqing. The statistics and monitoring data of a third-party institution show that there were 192 first stores newly opened in Chongqing in the third quarter of this year, an increase of 128% compared to the second quarter, which is the highest number of first stores opened in a single quarter since 2020, said Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce on November 28.

The 192 first stores include 73 catering stores (38%) and 81 retail stores (42%). The businesses related to sports and entertainment, parent and child care, and life services account for 20%. Apparel accounts for the highest percentage of the retail sector. A total of 56 apparel stores have been opened, of which women's apparel and multi-brand concept stores are the main force.

Of the 192 first stores, 18 are the first stores established in China, 41 are the first stores established in southwest China, and 133 are the first stores established in Chongqing. These stores are set up by 158 brands from the mainland, 4 brands from Chinese Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and 34 international brands from the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.

In the first three quarters of this year, Chongqing has introduced 341 brand stores, a year-on-year increase of 216%, according to third-party statistics and monitoring data. These stores are mainly located in downtown Chongqing, including 147 in Yuzhong District, 72 in Jiulongpo District, 64 in Jiangbei District, 37 in Yubei District, 35 in Liangjiang New Area, 11 in Shapingba District, 5 in Hechuan District, 2 in Nanan District, 1 in Beibei District, 1 in Banan District and 1 in Yongchuan District.
