CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Himalaya Airlines will resume direct flights between Chongqing and Nepal’s Kathmandu from December 12, according to the conference held by Himalaya Airlines and Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport on November 29. It will be the 11th international (regional) passenger route resumed by Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport this year.

The Chongqing-Kathmandu route will have two flights every week. On Tuesdays and Sundays, departure flight H9788 will take off from Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 16:25 and arrive at Kathmandu at 18:35, and the return flight H9787 will depart Kathmandu at 09:25 and arrive at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport at 15:15 (all the above are local time).

Nepal is located in the southern foothills of the Himalayas. At present, Nepal implements visa-on-arrival, waives visa fees for Chinese people, and many tourist attractions offer discounts on tickets for Chinese tourists.

The resumption of flights between Chongqing and Nepal will attract more Chongqing tourists to travel to Nepal. The four-hour travel distance will save much time for travelers.

Since this year, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has resumed international (regional) passenger routes to London, Paris, Moscow, Sydney, Doha, Osaka, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Kathmandu. At present, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport operates 19 international (regional) passenger routes and offers more than 90 flights per week.

In the future, with the strong support of the Chongqing Port and Logistics Office and other competent government departments, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport will actively promote the opening of routes to New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Auckland, Tokyo, Phnom Penh, Manila, Jakarta, and other destinations, step up their efforts to improve the network of international (regional) passenger routes and help build Chongqing into an opening hub and international consumption center.
