CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) Line 5 (Dashiba-Shiqiaopu section) and CRT Line 10 (Houbao-Lanhua Road) started initial operation on November 30, which marks the full operation of the two main north-south lines in Chongqing.

With a length of 4.7 kilometers, Line 5 (Dashiba-Shiqiaopu section) covers three stations, namely, Zhongshutuo, Hongyancun, and Xietaizi. Passengers can transfer to Line 9 in the Hongyancun Station, and transfer to Line 1 or Line 18 in the Xietaizi Station (passengers temporarily need to exit the station for transfer). The operation hours of the newly opened section of Line 5 are the same as those of the opened sections of Line 5. The first train departs at 6:30, while the last train departs at 23:00. The minimum travel interval on business days is 5 minutes. After the operation of Line 5, it will effectively connect Jiulongpo District, Yuzhong District, and Jiangbei District and reduce the commuting time of residents to cross the river.

Line 10 (Houbao-Lanhua Road) is 3.8 kilometers long, including Nanhu, Wanshoulu, and Lanhualu. Passengers can transfer to the Loop Line in the Nanhu Station, while transfer is not available in the Nanping Station for the moment. The initial operation hours for the Houbao-Lanhua start from 7:30 to 20:30 and the minimum travel interval on business days is 6 minutes and 30 seconds. After Line 10 starts operation, it will connect Nan’an District, Yuzhong District, Jiangbei District, and the Yubei District, offer easier transport for residents living in Huilongwan and Nanping CBD, and further alleviate the traffic pressure in the bridges between Nan’an, Jiangbei and Yuzhong Peninsula.

In addition, from today, the Jiangtiao Line and Line 5 will start operation and be connected so that the train can run from the Shengquansi Station of the Jiangtiao Line to the Shiqiaopu Station of Line 5. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
