CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The transfer of road facilities for Liyue Road has been finished and the road was opened to traffic on the evening of December 2, according to Liangjiang New Area Construction Bureau. The opening of Yueli Road saves about 15 minutes for passengers traveling from Lijia to Yuelai. We can take as little as five minutes to drive from Lijia to the Yuelai area.

Liyue Road, the owner of which is the Land Reserve and Renovation Center of Liangjiang New Area, is constructed and managed by Yugao Company. The 3.4km road is a sub-main road connecting the Lijia area and Yuelai area, with a total investment of CNY810 million, which is designed with a speed of 40km/h and a two-way four-lane road.

Liyue Road, located to the west of Jinshan Avenue, runs generally north-south. It starts at Liangjiang Bashu Middle School, heads north across Liudiaoxi, Overseas Chinese Town, Shihexi, and Guobo branch line of Line 6, and terminates at Yuelai Gaoyikou. It provides convenient transportation for hospitals, schools, commercial, and residential areas along the way.

Currently, there are two routes for us to drive from Yuelai to the Lijia Area: run on Jinxing Avenue and Jinyu Avenue or pass through the crowded Lijia Paradise Walk and the two-lane Jihua Road. It takes about 20 minutes.

The residents of the Lijia Area have been looking forward to the opening of Liyue Road. “With the increasing number of residents, Lijia Area has become more and more congested. Liyue Road offers us a new commuting route, effectively easing the traffic pressure on Jinshan Avenue,” said Mr. Sun, a resident of the Lijia Area.

“Liyue Road consists of two bridges and two tunnels, with only one traffic light. We can take as little as five minutes to drive from Lijia to the Yuelai area.” After the project is completely opened to traffic, it will further improve the road network of the Lijia and Yuelai areas, become an important channel connecting Yuelai and Lijia, relieve the traffic pressure on Jinyu Avenue and Jinshan Avenue, and ease congestion in the Lijia area, said the Urban Construction Office, Construction Bureau of Liangjiang New District.
