CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The City Park Sports Meeting (Chongqing) has recently kicked off amid laughter and shouts at the Danzishi Square in Landmark Riverside Park, Nan’an District, Chongqing.

The event has attracted more than 100 participants, which include college students and residents from nine communities in the Danzishi Sub-district. They are grouped by drawing lots and compete in fun sports such as dryland curling and table tennis. The oldest participant is 74 years old while the youngest is 11 years old.

Ou Zhenfang, the 74-year-old participant, is a native of Nan’an District. Nanbin Road, where the activity is held, is where she grew up. As a great fan of sports, Ou said, “It‘s interesting to experience such fun games on the doorstep.”

Everyone at the event was infected by the gales of laughter. Huang Liangmou, secretary of the Party Working Committee of Danzishi Sub-district, said that the integration of "love of health" into the park games is to help residents develop the habit of exercise, and promote the concept of national fitness and healthy lifestyles.
