CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- "Someone has fainted." Hearing this, Zhang Shengze, put down his meal, hurriedly got up, and ran to the crowd.
At noon on December 8, Ms Wang, a canteen worker at Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College, suddenly lost consciousness and fell to the ground. She got a stiff body, and then began to twitch and foam at the mouth. Zhang Shengze, a sophomore majoring in traditional Chinese medicine, came to see what happened upon hearing the sound.

"Let me try! I've learned first aid!" Zhang Shengze squatted down to check the pulse and respiration of Ms. Wang's pulse and respiration, only to find that she had stopped breathing and had no pulse. He immediately started cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Zhang Shengze’s roommate Jiang Yaobin, helped Zhang to open the mouth of Ms. Wang, turn her head to one side, and picked the foreign matter out of her throat with his fingers so that Ms. Wang could breathe. At the same time, he kept an eye on the pulse and pupils of Ms. Wang. Zhao Dongyan, a student studying acupuncture and massage, also came to help clean up the foreign matter in the mouth of Ms. Wang.
With their joint efforts, Ms. Wang regained her breath and pulse. The three students brought her up in a sitting position and patted her back. Finally, the peanut grain stuck in her throat was spat out.
After a while, they helped the medical staff from the Baian Branch of Chongqing University Three Gorges Hospital send the patient to the ambulance. This accident gives him a chance to practice the things he has learned.

Ms. Wang was stifled due to foreign matter stuck in the trachea, and the timely rescue efforts made by Zhang and the other two students saved her from death. Ms. Wang is now recovering.
"Life is precious. If this kind of accident happens again, I will still come to help," said Zhao Dongyan. As a medical student, she participated in rescue efforts without hesitation, as she believed that it was her responsibility to save the dying and help the injured. I would continue to study medical knowledge and save more people in the future, said Zhao.
“Saving people’s lives gives me a sense of achievement and makes me excited,” said Jiang Yaobin. His father once said to him, “A true man should either defend his country or save his people.” This experience made him have a better understanding of what his father said. He lived up to the expectations of his family and teachers and fulfilled the mission of a medical student. “I am a medical student, and I must save people,” Jiang said.
Zhang Shengze, a native of Xinjiang, came to Chongqing for his studies. This accident has stiffened his resolve to pursue a career in medical science.
Gong Min, the school's counselor, thought highly of the bravery of the three students, and she hoped that more students would be willing to offer help to those in need. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
