CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Get refreshed with a bowl of Chongqing Xiaomian in the morning, drift into the shifting crowd, stroll along a river bank to appreciate the gorgeous night view of the city, seek good food in night markets, enjoy hot pot with friends... These are parts of daily life for many Chongqing people. Encourage local residents to ‘leave the city’ to visitors, close Qiansimen Great Bridge so that visitors can appreciate the night view of Chongqing, and build a viewing platform for residents near Liziba Station... This is how Chongqing becomes a tourist-friendly city.
It’s happy to live in Chongqing
Following the vision of people-centered development, Chongqing has focused on the key events to support people’s livelihood in 2023. Efforts were made to improve people’s livelihood and enhance people’s sense of well-being.
Employment is vital to people’s livelihood. In order to help college graduates and other young people find jobs or start their own businesses, Chongqing has launched ten action plans and released 1.152 million market-oriented job opportunities.
Medical treatment is a basic need for people's livelihood. To facilitate medical treatment, the public hospitals at and above the second level in Chongqing have achieved full coverage of "one-stop" outpatient service centers, offering more convenient and efficient services for the masses.
Education is the foundation of people's livelihood. To promote balanced development of education, since this year, Chongqing has built, renovated, and expanded 151 compulsory education schools, and invested 62.66 billion yuan in rural schools and weak schools.
To reduce the need for citizens to travel, the city's second-level public hospitals have achieved a one-stop outpatient service center, for the public to provide more convenient and efficient services.
Focus on the elderly and children. In 2023, Chongqing has vigorously developed meal assistance services for the elderly, to improve their life quality and show love and care for the elderly. Now Chongqing has built 742 canteens for the elderly and more than 1,600 self-help meal points for the elderly, benefiting nearly three million elderly people throughout the year. Meanwhile, to create "good kindergartens in the doorway" for children, Chongqing has added 86 public kindergartens, offering 17,000 places.
People's livelihood is the foundation of people's well-being and social harmony.
Education, school, medical services, canteens for the elderly, and kindergartens are what people are most concerned about, which carry people’s yearning for a better life. The well-being of residents is closely associated with the ‘blue picture’ of Chongqing’s development. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
