CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The southern section of Shimei Road and its overpass in Jiulongpo District opened to traffic on December 31, 2023.

Located in the core area of Shiqiaopu business district in Jiulongpo District, the southern section of Shimei Road and its overpass project starts from Chaoyang Road in the south, connects with Lanmei Road in the north, and overpasses Shixin Road in the middle. The main line of the project is about 960 meters long, with four two-way lanes. It is a key project for the renewal of Chongqing's road network. The completion of the road adds a new north-south fast track for the Shiqiaopu area, which will shorten the travel time for passengers to travel from Chaoyang Road to Lanmei Road and alleviate the traffic pressure at Erlang overpass, Shixin Road overpass, Liubeiqiao intersection, and other places.
