CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As one of the major Chengdu-Chongqing world-class airports, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport completed 44.657 million passenger trips last year, ranking sixth in China.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport's passenger throughput last year has recovered to the level of 2019, ranking the top three among the top ten airports in China. The rapid recovery of passenger traffic is mainly due to the strengthening and upgrading of the trunk airlines. Last year, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport consolidated and increased express flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen, and completed the construction of the Chongqing-Fujian Express and Chongqing-Shandong Express, which greatly increased the number of passengers traveling between Chongqing and Fujian and Shandong.

Last year, the average passenger load of a single flight, and the daily and monthly passenger throughput of flights at Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport all hit a record high. On August 12, 2023, the daily passenger throughput of Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport hit a new high of 158,500; in August 2023, the monthly passenger throughput hit a new high of 4.3773 million.

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport operates 20 international (regional) passenger routes and offers nearly 100 flights a week. In the near future, the airport will actively promote the opening of airline routes to New York, Los Angeles, Milan, Tokyo, Manila, and Jakarta to accelerate the improvement of the international (regional) passenger route network, to help Chongqing construct an international aviation hub, and to build Chongqing into a city with a new height of openness and an international consumption center.
