CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Villagers strived for chances to perform at the Village Gala for the Chinese New Year. The final of Chongqing's First Beautiful and Harmonious Rural Talent Competition (Chongqing’s Village Gala), hosted by Chongqing Broadcasting Group under the guidance of the publicity department of Chongqing Municipality and the Chongqing Municipal Office of Spiritual Civilisation Construction Committee, will be taking place on January 19 in Meixin Wine Town (in Linshi Sub-district, Fuling District).

46 programs are shortlisted for the final of Chongqing's First Beautiful and Harmonious Rural Talent Competition, and the winners will be recommended to participate in the 2024 Sichuan-Chongqing Spring Festival Gala.

Recently, the contestants from different towns and sub-districts have given spectacular performances, including singing, dancing, short sketches, musical instruments, sitcoms, stage shows, and intangible cultural heritage skills, at Chongqing’s First Beautiful and Harmonious Rural Talent Competition: “The Face and Voice of Fuling” Contest.

The “Talents in Wansheng” Contest, part of Chongqing’s first Beautiful and Harmonious Rural Talent Competition, was hosted on January 10, starting with the dance “Happy to Grind Rice”. The contestants brought a wonderful cultural feast to the audience through singing, dancing, musical instruments, intangible cultural heritage skills, and other forms of performance.

The “Beibei Talent” Contest of Chongqing’s first Beautiful and Harmonious Rural Talent Competition offered 17 brilliant shows, which fully demonstrated diverse rural life in the new era in China and the simple, open-minded, and optimistic spirit of rural residents.

The first three stages of the competition (auditions, promotion competitions, and sprints) have been finished by January 10. So far, the event organizer has received tens of thousands of works through the official website for the competition, with more than 16 million page views and 2,168,667 likes.
