Chongqing launches 300 activities for consumption promotion to welcome the arrival of the Chinese New Year

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- According to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce, 2024 “Love in Chongqing · Consumption Season for New Year” has been officially launched for the purpose of keeping expanding and promoting consumption.

It is understood that during the consumption season for the New Year, Chongqing would organize to carry out nearly 300 thematic and distinctive promotional activities characterized by the New Year’s goods, New Year’s custom, New Year’s Eve dinner and other New Year’s consumption hotspots, highlighting five themes including “happy shopping, trade-in, playing ice and snow, online New Year’s goods, and food reunion”, and fully integrating the business, culture, tourism, sports and health online and offline resources from January to March 2024.

“Happy shopping” for celebrating the New Year, and hundreds of heart-warming promotions for attracting the consumer boom in the Year of the Dragon

During these activities, the districts, counties and industries will organize more than 100 thematic and innovative promotional activities themed on “happy shopping” by fully grasping the New Year customs, highlighting the characteristics of the dragon culture.

Yuzhong District will hold the “2024 Yuzhong Consumption Festival for Celebrating New Year” from January, combining more than 30 shopping centers and special blocks in the District to launch the themed Spring Festival Lightings, themed New Year’s Eve Party and other cultural performances and end-of-the-year promotional activities.

Jiulongpo District will launch the “Year of the Dragon Zodiac Stamps Chongqing Debut Ceremony and Themed Activities”, linking Jiulongpo, Fengdu, Wulong and other places to create consumption feast by means of “product promotion, folk performances, cultural and creative bazaar” and other forms.

Jiangbei District will launch Dashiba First Urban Consumption Festival, Jiangjin District will hold the “Shuangfu New Year Art Festival”, Banan District will hold the “Getting Together for Joyful Year of the Dragon”, Dazu District will hold the “Love in Chongqing · Benefits Throughout the City”, Liangjiang New Area will hold the “Appointment with Liangjiang New Area · Consumption Festival for Celebrating New Year”, and Yunyang will launch the Spring Festival Consumption Season and other series of promotional activities to meet the public’s Spring Festival consumption needs, and create a joyful and peaceful festive consumption atmosphere.

“Gourmet consumption” gathering people together adds different flavor to welcome the New Year of the Dragon

On January 18, in Fuling Mexin Wine Town, the 4th New Year Cultural Festival opened lively. At the Wine Square, chefs built a big fire stove at the scene, and carefully cooked as many as 13 dishes which were made of the locally special Fuling black pig, including spicy mixed heart, tongue and belly, marinated tenderloin, steamed pork ribs, and farmhouse braised meat. It was so lively and extraordinary that many people gathered together to celebrate the New Year around the long table filled with a variety of dishes.

It is understood that many districts and counties in Chongqing have launched “food consumption” activities. Yuzhong District will launch “2024 Chongqing Spring Festival Banquet Exhibition”, organize and carry out the spring festival food exhibition, special dishes exhibition, mountain city special feast promotion and other activities at the end of January.

Jiangbei District will walk into the grass-roots level of the public to be around three themes including “Golden Dragon Celebrating New Year, Non-heritage Culture Sending Warmth, and New Year’s Goods Happy Purchasing”, linking the streets and communities to jointly launch “2024 Chongqing Spring Festival Banquet Exhibition”.

Combining hotpot food ingredients, selenium-enriched food, agricultural specialties, national specialties, and cross-border popular commodities, Jiangjin District will launch “2024 Jiangjin Hotpot New Year’s Celebration Festival and the 9th Jiangjin Selenium-enriched Food and Culture Festival”.

Nanchuan District started the “9th Jinfoshan New Year Pig Culture Festival” from the end of December, Yunyang County will launch 2024 agricultural specialties and New Year’s goods exhibition and marketing activities, Fuling District, Yongchuan District, and Dianjiang County will launch the New Year’s goods festival, New Year’s goods exhibition and a variety of online and offline combined consumer activities.

The relevant person in charge of Chongqing Municipal Commission of Commerce said that in 2024, Chongqing will focus on the overall deployment themed on “Consumption Promotion Year” by the Ministry of Commerce, take the form of “4+4+M+N”, and link districts and counties to carry out a series of consumption promotion activities.

The first “4” means that the urban districts (counties) will be linked together to organize and carry out thematic promotional activities in four seasons, such as “Love in Chongqing · Consumption Season for New Year”, “Love in Chongqing · Consumption Season for Appreciating Spring” and “Love in Chongqing · Consumption Season in Middle Summer” and “Love in Chongqing ·Consumption Season in Golden Autumn”. The second “4” means to mobilize four major industries such as automobiles, home appliances, household appliances and clothing to carry out promotional activities. “M” means major activities such as the Third China (Chongqing) International Consumption Festival, 2024 Chongqing Nightlife Festival, 2024 Chengdu - Chongqing Consumption Festival, 618 E-commerce Festival, and Hotpot Gourmet and Cultural Festival and other municipal-level key activities. “N” means to mobilize the districts and counties to fully find out the landscape, nightlife, food, fashion, health and other consumer hot spots, hold a number of special consumption promotion activities, to ensure “seasonal themes, monthly activities, weekly wonders, and non-stop concessions”, and continue setting off a consumer boom.
