CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The City Orientating Race is a kind of sport held in historical scenic spots, tourist attractions, food streets, and commercial complexes, allowing participants to walk through the city and witness the beautiful landscape of the city. The 2024 Chongqing Central Park City Orientating Race started with warm-up exercises amidst cheers of joy on January 20.

The 2024 Chongqing Central Park City Orientating Race is one of the major events to celebrate the new year in Yubei District after the Yubei New Year Concert and before the unveiling ceremony of the National Art Center at the Lantern Festival, which symbolizes our start of a new journey in the new year.

Following the vision of an all-age-friendly competition, the race aims to popularize healthy and active lifestyles among people of all ages. There are three themed routes in the race, each of which is about three to four kilometers and set up with five game (or photo-taking) sites. Participants are expected to arrive at the game sites based on the prompts, finish designated missions, and then run to the finish line.

Chongqing Central Park was wakened by participants dressed in athletic attire and coming from all districts of Chongqing at 8:00 AM. From signing in, and distributing supplies, to preparing for the race, the enthusiastic and joyful participants behaved in an orderly manner.

The participants completed the missions one by one, demonstrating the spirit of hard work and teamwork. Most of them joined in the race with their family members or friends.
