The handover ceremony for “Dragon Traveling across China Under the Escort of Changan Qiyuan Cars” intangible cultural heritage promotion activity took place in Harbin on January 29. The dragon dance team from Chongqing, Tongliang Fire Dragon, gave a spectacular and exciting dragon dance performance, and the “Bashan People’s Celebrations of the Spring Festival” tourism promotion activity launched by Sichuan and Chongqing was announced at the ceremony.

Sichuan and Chongqing will jointly work to hold a series of culture and tourism promotion activities under the theme, such as Bashu Pandas’ New Year Greeting, Bashu Cruise Journey for the New Year, Celebrating the New Year in Bashu Ancient Town, Sichuan and Chongqing Singing in Chorus, Journey of “Fire and Ice” in Bashu, Bashu Creative Culture is Yours to Explore, and Bashu Village Gala.

The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will film pandas sending out New Year greetings to people from all over China and invite them to have fun in Sichuan and Chongqing.

For the “Celebrating the New Year in Bashu Ancient Town” activity, Sichuan and Chongqing will release videos of the cheerful festive atmosphere of their ancient towns to interact with netizens. For example, Chongqing will share the videos of Tongliang Anju Ancient Town, Hechuan Laitan Ancient Town, and Ciqikou Ancient Town; Sichuan will share the videos of Langzhong Ancient Town, Huanglongxi Ancient Town, and Jiezi Ancient Town.

The “Journey of 'Fire and Ice' in Bashu” will offer a wide range of winter activities including snow viewing, skiing, hot springs, and hot pots.

At the same time, The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism will hold discussions on topical issues, such as New Year's customs, activities for the year of the Dragon, and visitor-friendly activities, to collect feedback from tourists in Sichuan and Chongqing.
