CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- As the Spring Festival is approaching, many cross-river bridges in Chongqing have turned on their lights to welcome the beginning of a new year. The illuminated bridges and the incessant stream of vehicles blend perfectly.

“Whenever I drive through the Dafosi Yangtze River Bridge, rows of brightly red lanterns remind me of the arrival of the Spring Festival,” Mr. Li said with a smile.

So far, the Chongqing Lighting Center of the Chongqing Urban Administration Bureau has completed the installation and testing of the New Year lanterns for the Dafosi Yangtze River Bridge, Gaojia Huayuan Bridge, Cuntan Yangtze River Bridge, Jiayue Bridge, and Masangxi Yangtze River Bridge. A total of 768 sets of LED red lights were hung on the lampposts on both sides of the five bridges, creating a joyful and auspicious festive atmosphere, said the Chongqing Lighting Center.

The decorative lights for the five bridges have been upgraded to highlight three features. Firstly, they are eco-friendly, low-energy, and recycled lighting products, the density of which is strictly controlled; secondly, these lighting products are traditional red lanterns with high quality and simple elegance, which give life to the surroundings and create a joyful festive atmosphere; thirdly, to ensure the safe operation of decorative lights, the lighting center strengthens the life-cycle operation and maintenance of lights by timely finding out and solving all kinds of problems.

To provide the best lighting environment for tourists and residents, the lighting center has also carefully organized and mobilized professional and capable personnel to offer technical guidance in hanging lanterns and strengthened the inspection and maintenance of street lights and lanterns during the Spring Festival.
