CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- February 2 was the Minor New Year (Xiaonian in Chinese) of the Year of the Dragon. In Chongqing Zoo, pandas collectively paid the New Year’s greetings to everyone, showing a lively and peaceful scene. Visitors lined up in a long line, tiptoed and raised their cell phone to record such lovely scene.

Panda “Mang Cancan” was the first to make an appearance, drawing straws to taste its food, causing the crowd to laugh; pandas “Yuke and Yu’ai” played with the roly-poly chair, enjoying their feast, showing the image of national treasures; pandas “Shuangshuang, Chongchong, Xixi and Qingqing” were sitting around a table, and enjoying their “Reunion Dinner” with great relish.

It is understood that, in order to create a harmonious and festive atmosphere, and enrich the supply of cultural and tourism products for the New Year, Sichuan and Chongqing culture and tourism departments recently launched series of thematic activities about the New Year, and “Bashu Pandas Paying New Year’s Greetings” is a sub-activity. After the launch of this activity, Sichuan and Chongqing culture and tourism departments will also jointly produce a video about pandas paying New Year’s greetings to send wishes to national tourists, inviting them to come to Sichuan and Chongqing to see pandas and celebrate the Spring Festival.

In addition, the series of thematic activities about the New Year will also include “People in Bashu as One Family · Touring the River for the New Year”, “Bashu Hot Pot Festival”, “Bashu Ancient Town Celebrating the Chinese New Year”, “People in Bashu as One Family · Scenic Spot Fun”, “Going to a Lantern Festival Together”, “Bashu Village Gala Serving Guests” and so on, publicizing and promoting the charming scenery, gourmet food and beautiful things with the characteristic elements of Sichuan and Chongqing to the whole country, fully displaying the cultural characteristics of Bashu, and inviting people of the whole country to share the fruits of the development of cultural tourism in Bashu.

On the basis of a series of thematic activities, Sichuan and Chongqing will also launch “People in Sichuan and Chongqing as One Family and Celebrating the Chinese New Year Together”, “Sichuan and Chongqing Getting Together” and others, attracting tourists from all over the country to experience the lively Sichuan and Chongqing, and spend a joyful Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon.
