CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On February 2, Luo Xiaobo welding reinforcing bars on the cantilever girders of the bridge deck which is 105 meters high from the ground received a phone call made by his wife from Guofu Town, Qijiang and she said that: “Today we slaughtered a pig for the Spring Festival. We’ve got the whole family together, except you. When can you go home?”

Luo Xiaobo told his wife: “We have to catch up with the schedule at the construction site, and several workmates in our crew from Guofu Town are still busy at the construction site.” He repeatedly assured his wife that he had made an appointment with his workmates, they would charter a bus to rush back as soon as they were on vacation, and he would be home by noon.

As a welder on the overpass construction site from T3 to Longjun Avenue Station which is Section 5-1 of Bridge Business Unit of China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. of Civil Engineering of Phase I of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15, Luo Xiaobo told the reporter that only when the reinforcing bars of the cantilever beams on the bridge deck are fixed could the concrete be poured for the purpose of taking advantage of the Chinese New Year to allow the cantilever beams to dry out and solidify so as to ensure the quality of construction and avoid waiting for the drying and delaying the schedule. In these days, he and his workmates would fix all the concrete reinforcing bars of piers No. 15 - No. 21.

It is understood that Rail Transit Line 15 starts from Zengjia Station in the west and ends at Liangjiang Yingshicheng Station in the east. The overpass between T3 and Longjun Avenue Station is a key node project of the Civil Engineering of Phase I of Chongqing Rail Transit Line 15.

The Project Department integrates science and technology innovation into the project construction to reduce safety risks through intelligent supervision means, and adopts systematic scientific and technological means such as BIM, video monitoring, big data and AI to combine with on-site intelligent terminal equipment and software applications. It also cooperates with China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group Co., Ltd. to develop a new type of intelligent hanging baskets, improving the safety and quality control of overhead construction, and ensuring to complete the overpass in October 2024.
