CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- When talking about the accident happening on the night of the sixth day of the first lunar month in the Hongyadong scenic spot, Zhu Wenjing said firmly in an interview on February 21 that she would not hesitate to come to the rescue if such an accident happened again, even if she would be at risk of falling.

Zhu Wenjing, a staff of the Yuzhong Chaotianmen Mianhua Community Committee and a volunteer of the Hongya Marshmallow Cultural and Tourism Volunteer Service Team, supported the back of an old lady with her back, saving the elderly from falling from the nine-floor escalator in the Hongyadong scenic spot on the evening of February 15.

It was not until February 20 that Zhu Wenjing saw the moments captured by the surveillance camera that she found that she had supported and saved two old ladies who were going to fall from the escalator.

“I still have a panic fear after the accident. Fortunately, there were other people to help, or I would have fallen with the old ladies,” said Zhu.

The entire rescue process took simply a few seconds, but for Zhu Wenjing, who was 1.53 meters tall and weighed less than 100 kilograms, it was challenging. When the weight on her body kept piling up and she was about to fall, fortunately, she was supported by others standing behind her, so that she could safely support the old lady.

Zhu Wenjing said that if such kind of accident happened again, she would still rush to help. She believes that her actions transmit her courage and kindness to other people.

Hongya Marshmallow Cultural and Tourism Volunteer Service Team, jointly established by the Culture and Tourism Commission of Yuzhong District and Chaotianmen Mianhua Community, is composed of community party members, urban management grid members, and some residents.
