CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Spring Festival travel rush is in full swing. The airports and train stations are crowded, while this bus station is not bustling. It is “small but fine”, and provides warm and comfortable service. Shuangfengqiao Bus Station is located near Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport. Compared with other long-distance bus stations in the downtown area, it seems a little “mini”, and it has 26 passenger routes, many of which run to the townships under the jurisdiction, and facilitate passengers to the fullest extent.

In front of the ticket window at Shuangfengqiao Bus Station, some passengers were seen lining up for one or two minutes to purchase tickets.

The small waiting hall was filled with passengers in a hurry.

In the departure yard, the upcoming bus to Yubei Tongjing Town was filled with passengers, which gives the atmosphere of the Spring Festival travel rush. “The ticket price is 11 yuan”, “passengers have no need to transfer”, “if you take the highway, you will spend less than an hour” and so on, for passengers going to and from the town and downtown area, taking bus is very cost-effective.

Ran Heng, the person in charge of the Passenger Transportation Section of the Station, said that the Station currently owns 26 routes, including these to and from Yubei Tongjing, Cizhu, Shichuan and other villages and towns, county-level routes to and from Yongchuan, Hechuan, Nanchuan and other counties, as well as 4 interprovincial routes to and from Sichuan Linshui, Nanchong and others. After the Spring Festival, there were many passengers from the township to the downtown area, and the Station had a daily average passenger volume of about 1,200 passenger-times, with an increase rate of about 30% compared with that on ordinary days.

Working outside for many years, Ms. Wu planned to go to Wenling, Zhejiang Province. After making comparison, she still booked a long-distance bus ticket and she said that “if taking a train, I have to transfer for two times during the way; while it is more convenient for me to take a bus.”

This long-distance bus route to Wenling is actually an extension of the business of Shuangfengqiao Bus Station. Ran Heng said that in order to facilitate the travel of passengers, they provided a transshipping service; and passengers could take a free ride here to Chongqingbei Railway Station South Square Bus Station and Sigongli Bus Station to take a long-distance bus.

Such extension service is combined with Jiangbei International Airport. The Airport Express makes a stop here, which makes it a convenient transfer point, welcoming those who are getting off the plane and ready to go home as well as those who are about to leave all day long.

Although the Station is “mini”, its service is not compromised, so the safety inspectors were busy doing inspections for a vehicle.

Compared with train stations and airports, during the Spring Festival travel rush, the Bus Station is less bustling, but more comfortable and cozy.
