CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Chongqing athlete Wang Qiang grabbed the gold medal in Men’s 50km Mass Start Classic at the 14th National Winter Games of China held in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia on February 24. It is the fifth gold medal obtained by Chongqing’s squad at the National Winter Games.

Known as the ‘marathon on the snow field’, Men’s 50km Mass Start Classic tests the endurance of athletes. During the competition, Wang Qiang followed closely on his opponent and saved his strength for the last part of the race.

So far, Wang Qiang has won five gold medals in five events at the 14th National Winter Games, including Men's 15km+15km Skiathlon, Men's 15km Fee, Men’s Individual Sprint Classic, Men’s Team Sprint Free, and Men’s 50km Mass Start Classic. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
