CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On February 24, the day of the Lantern Festival, the China-Laos freight train, loaded with nearly 14 tonnes of prefabricated food made in Rongchang, Chongqing, departed Chongqing Tuanjiecun Central Station of the new western land-sea corridor.

It is the first China-Laos freight train for prepared food on the new western land-sea corridor, which further facilitates trade between Chongqing's characteristic industries and foreign countries.

The prepared food transported to Laos and Thailand this time includes fish-flavored shredded pork, shredded pork with pickled cabbage, and braised pig’s head, with a value of more than CNY200,000. The new western land-sea corridor broke regional restrictions and provided our overseas compatriots with a taste of our homeland at the Lantern Festival.

The prepared food market has flourished in the past two years. The food and agricultural products processing industry is one of the three sixty-nine-billion-dollar pillar industry clusters in the "33618" modern manufacturing cluster system being built by Chongqing. The prepared food industry is undergoing high-quality and accelerated development featuring local characteristics, clusterization, and brand building.

To promote the export of prepared food products, New Land-sea Corridor Operation (Chongqing) has conducted in-depth research on enterprises in the prepared food industry and provided one-to-one consulting services for those enterprises. "This is the first time for our customers to export prepared food to Laos on the cross-border railway. We assisted them in completing export documentation and shipping, and ensured the safety, convenience, and efficiency of the transportation," said the head of the related department.
