CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China jointly promulgated the National Occupational Standard for Chinese Cuisine Chefs (Chinese hotpot chefs) recently, which marks that the national occupational standard for Chinese hotpot chefs compiled by Chongqing has been approved and begun. The successful development of the national standard for hotpot chefs has filled the gap in the development of the national occupational standards in Chongqing and provided key support for the training of skilled personnel in the Chinese hotpot industry.

National occupational standards provide a basis for vocational training and evaluation of skilled personnel. It is understood that the national standard for Chinese hotpot chefs specifies the career overview, basic requirements, work requirements, and the table of weights for Chinese hotpot chefs, including career definition, occupational skill level, vocational training requirements, vocational skill evaluation requirements, professional ethics and knowledge required for practitioners, assessment and weighting ratios for different grades, etc. The occupational standard for Chinese hotpot chefs defines a clear direction for the training and evaluation of Chinese hotpot chefs.

According to the statistics of relevant departments, there are more than 10 million hotpot workers in China. The promulgation of the national standard for Chinese hotpot chefs is of great significance to the Chinese hotpot industry, as it standardizes the training of skilled talents in the industry and provides hotpot workers with access to career advancement.

In the future, Chongqing will improve the hotpot personnel training system, offer vocational training and certification of vocational skills for Chinese hotpot chefs, and host hotpot vocational skills competitions so as to supply Chinese hotpot talent to the high-quality development of the hotpot industry in Chongqing.
