Chongqing University’s performance team of ‘Loong Dancer’ back on CCTV

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On the evening of March 3, 2024, Chongqing University’s performance team of ‘Loong Dancer (Shou Long Ren)’ performed the original dance ‘Long Yin Bo Wu’ in the variety show ‘Soaring Loong and Leaping Tiger – Chinese New Year’ on the CCTV synthesis skill channel (CCTV-1), showing the unique charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture to the national audience. This is the second time that the performance team has appeared on the CCTV after participating in the 2024 Spring Festival Gala of the China Media Group.

The variety show ‘Soaring Loong and Leaping Tiger – Chinese New Year’ show is co-produced by China Media Group and the National Cultural Heritage Administration. Featuring spring songs, dances, and acrobatics, the variety show presents the world of spring from different perspectives, interprets the Chinese people's pursuit of happiness, and showcases to the world the vitality and warmth of China.

The performance team of the original dance ‘Loong Dance’, consisting of 25 teachers and students of Chongqing University, performed the opening dance of the 2024 Spring Festival Gala, giving a spectacular loong dance to the audience at home and abroad. This is the only original college dance piece with a solo dance section in the opening shows of the 2024 Spring Festival Gala. It is also the first time for Chongqing University to appear as a team in CCTV’s Spring Festival Gala.
