CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- To celebrate the upcoming International Women's Day and commend outstanding individuals, the All-China Women's Federation announced the list of March 8 Red-banner Pacesetters for 2023. Liao Zemeng, the post-95s meal courier with Ele.me, is the first and only meal courier that has been honored as the March 8 Red-banner holder.

The existing statistics show that the proportion of women in the courier is less than 10%. Liao Zemeng studied interior design at college and worked as a floral design trainer before engaging in food delivery. With her work experience in delivering food, she writes an illustrated book on takeout purchase tips. She also shares her work experience in food delivery, receiving millions of likes from netizens.

Liao Zemeng was born in Hechuan, Chongqing, and has worked as a meal courier for nearly four years. She once failed to deliver a takeaway on time due to heavy rain, and she thought the customer would have been mad at her for being late. But unexpectedly, the customer was grateful to her for delivering food in heavy rain.

Liao Zemeng was deeply touched by the kindness of the customer, and she decided to pass on the goodwill and make people around her warm and happy. When Liao is free, she shares her life and work experience on social media platforms, which gives people a different take on meal couriers – they are not only committed to fast and considerate delivery service but also responsible for the construction of our communities.

Liao Zemeng always pays great attention to women and children, the vulnerable members of society. In 2022, she was invited to join the executive committee of Chongqing Yuzhong Times Paradise Walk New Employment Group Women's Federation and assist children and women in Yuzhong.

Liao Zemeng often spends her free time in voluntary activities, such as community behavior guidance that helps residents raise their legal consciousness and be polite road users. Liao also spends time with empty nesters and extends her regards to them.

These ‘blue knights’ with Ele.me who warmheartedly serve the community are called the warriors of the community. “I learn much from these voluntary activities and fulfill myself. Helping others makes me happier,” said Liao Zemeng.
