The 18-kilometer shoreline on Beibin Road opens

CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The four banks of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River have captivated tourists with their magnificent views of rivers and hills. With the completion of Beibin Road Yangpao Bureau Ecological Bay, the 18-kilometer shoreline between Gaojia Huayuan Bridge and Tazi Mountain, part of the ‘Two Rivers and Four Banks’ improvement project, has been completed and opened to the public, said the Jiangbei Housing and Urban-rural Development Commission.

The ‘T Two Rivers and Four Banks’ improvement project includes five sub-projects: Panxihe Riverside Park, Xiangguosi Riverside Park, Jiangbeizui Jiangtan Park, Yangpao Bureau Ecological Bay, and Jialing River Xingyue Huoli Bay, the shorelines of which cover 18 kilometers in total.

With a total length of 5.2 kilometers, the Yangpao Bureau Ecological Bay project starts from Jinyuan Road in the east to Shuibin Road in the west and covers. Here you can discover a world of the Counter-Japanese War culture and industrial culture in Yangpao Bureau 1862 Cultural and Creative Park, Jiangling Factory, and the former site of the Chedu.

To build a dynamic cultural bay, the Yangpao Bureau Ecological Bay project focuses on ecological conservation and restoration and includes the greening of the wharf and retaining walls, the improvement of intertidal zones, the reconstruction of spaces under bridges, the building of walkways, according to the Jiangbei Housing and Urban-rural Development Commission. Upon completion, the project will connect the riverside trail under the Gaojia Huayuan Bridge with the trail under the Shimen Bridge and Jiahua Bridge. Additionally, the 19.83-kilometer reconstructed and extended Hong’en trail will connect with Beibin Road, Hongensi Garden, and Dongyuan D7 Area, making it convenient for the public to access parks and riverfront areas through the mountain city trails.

Jiangbei District has built about 50 kilometers of walking and cycling trails along Binjiang Road and 79 channels connecting the hinterland of the city with rivers. What’s more, the shorelines in Jiangbei District have been equipped with nine landscape viewing platforms, six basketball courts, two badminton courts, eight restrooms, nine car parks (a total of 421 parking spaces), and other supporting facilities.
