CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- At the beginning of the year, the Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) construction projects of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group are in full swing. With a focus on the quality and efficiency of the projects, the company strives to accelerate the construction to meet its goals on time. Let’s look at the latest construction progress on several CRT projects.

The western extension of CRT Line 4

Nine stations have started the construction of their main structures.

At the beginning of March, the overall western extension of CRT Line 4 started construction, involving more than 120 large pieces of mechanical equipment and over 1,200 on-site construction workers.

The general contracting department for the western extension of CRT Line 4, established by Chongqing Rail Transit Group and Power Construction Corporation of China, was making overall arrangements to accelerate the project construction.

At present, all 9 stations of the western extension of CRT Line 4 have started construction. The bottom slab construction of the main structure of Longxi Station has been completed, laying a solid foundation for the safety and smoothness of the subsequent construction work, and meeting the necessary conditions for the TBM tunneling.

All tunnels of the CRL Line 6 have been finished and connected

With 26 large pieces of machinery and equipment such as tower cranes and truck cranes, all tunnels (dug by a tunnel boring machine) of the CRL Line 6 have been finished and connected, and three stations of the line have been roofed.

At present, three stations of CRT Line 6 and their parts are undergoing construction; cut and cover method and deep bore method are used for the tunneling of the Chongqingdong-Changshenglaojie section and the Changshenglaojie-Baileyuan section; the bridges of the Baileyuan-Liujiaping section is under construction; and the bridge pile foundation construction has started for the Liujiaping-Shangxinjie section

The northern extension of CRT Line 18

Eight stations have started the construction of their main structures.

The 11 construction sites of the north extension of CRT Line 18 are bustling with construction activities. With 72 large pieces of machinery and equipment, such as excavators, loaders, and gantry cranes, operating in an orderly manner, all eight stations along Line 18 have started the construction of their main structures.

Centering on safe production and high construction quality, the general contracting department for the northern extension of CRT Line 18, established by Chongqing Rail Transit Group and Power Construction Corporation of China, has overcome construction difficulties and constantly studied new construction methods and techniques so as to promote the high-quality development of rail transit engineering.

At present, the construction of the cover plate for Phase I of Caiyuanlu Station in the northern extension of CRT Line 18 has been completed, and the envelope structure for the second phase is under construction. The remaining seven stations of Line 18 have started excavation and lining construction. The main line excavation is being carried out for the section between the starting point and Xiaoshizi Station and the section between Chongqing Station to Caiyuanlu Station. The dual tracks of the section between Dapingxi Station and the terminal have been completed. The Qixinggang-Chongqing section and the Huangshaxi-Dapingxi section have started excavation.

The Phase I Project of CRT Line 24

Nine tunning boring machines are operating to accelerate the construction.

The Phase I project of CRT Line 24 is the fourth ‘Demonstration CRT Line’ of Chongqing. With more than 70 sets of large-scale equipment like gantry cranes, tunnel boring machines, crawler cranes, and air compressors, car cranes running in an orderly manner, all 21 construction sites of the line are bustling with construction activities.

To ensure the project progresses as scheduled, the general contracting department for Phase I of CRT Line 24 of Chongqing Rail Transit Group and Power Construction Corporation of China has scientifically developed a construction scheme, strictly controlled the quality of the project, and ensured the safety of construction.

Phase 1 of CRT Line 24, includes ten self-built stations and one station constructed by other companies (Chongqingdong Station). One self-built station, constructed by cut and cover method, is under construction; five roofed open-cut stations are under construction of ancillary structures; four stations constructed by deep bore method have started excavation and lining construction. All nine tunnel bore machines have started operation and completed tunneling for the Waziba-Chafulu section, and the Yinglong-Shangmaochengbei section. (Translated by Yuki, Fathom Language Limited)
