CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- Changan Auto's sales of new energy vehicles of its brand reached 75,000 from January to February this year, showing an increase of more than 54 percent year-on-year, according to Liangjiang New Area.

The global deliveries of the Deep Blue vehicles reached 9,994 units in February, and the total deliveries of the first two months of 2024 exceeded 27000 units. 2,457 Avatr vehicles were delivered in February, and a total of 9,516 vehicles were delivered from January to February, of which 3095 units were Avatr 11 vehicles and 6,421 units were Avatr 12.

At the same time, the new products of Changan Auto are launched in an orderly manner. On March 1, Changan Auto launched its Hunter pickup truck, the first extended-range pickup truck in the world. Zhu Huarong, Chairman of Changan Auto, stated that starting from the launch of Changan Hunter, Changan Auto will step up efforts to develop its markets in ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America, Middle East, and Africa, with a view to selling 500,000 Changan pickup trucks by 2023 and ranking among the top five in terms of the global pickup truck sales.

New energy vehicles are a key area of development for Changan Auto. At the Changan Automobile Global Eco-Partnership Conference held in January this year, Zhu Huarong revealed that eight new energy models will be launched this year, and the company will strive to sell 750,000 new energy models throughout the year, so as to quicken its pace of transformation to an intelligent low-carbon travel technology company.

Previously, various works regarding the entire industry chain of new energy vehicles have been carried out intensively. In 2023, Changan Auto worked with Huawei, NIO, and CATL to make breakthroughs in intelligent system technology, the C-terminal power exchange business, and lithium battery technology. In November last year, Changan Auto also signed a memorandum of investment and cooperation with Huawei to set up a new company focusing on the intelligent driving system of intelligent connected vehicles, as well as the research, development, production, sales, and service of vehicle components.
