CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- The 28th Hong Kong International Film & Television Market (Filmart) took place at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center between March 11 and March 14, attracting more than 750 exhibitors from over 25 countries and regions. As one of the exhibitors in Filmart, Chongqing’s delegation came with a series of film and television works as well as a 20-member group – Chongqing's Lili Zhou Film Viewing Group.

Lili Zhou Film Viewing Group is a non-profit film and art organization. Since its establishment in 2017, the organization has held more than 200 Chinese and foreign art films (documentary films) viewing and communication activities involving over 20,000 audiences.

Lili Zhou, the founder of Lili Zhou Film Viewing Group, told us that the age of the 20-member group this time ranged between 20 and 60 years old. The group includes film enthusiasts and people engaged in the film industry. They joined the group and visited Hong Kong Filmart because of their love for films.

In addition to the joy of watching movies, some members of the group found business opportunities at the Filmart. Zhou Jingyi was one of them. Zhou has joined Lili Zhou Film Viewing Group for many years, and he thought the trip to Hong Kong Filmart was an eye-opening experience for him. “Some Hong Kong movie producers advocated innovation and something new. Also, I learned from Filmart that the film and television works that focus on promoting socialist core values, patriotism, and the excellent traditional Chinese culture are more popular,” said Zhou Jingyi. Zhou is engaged in the cultural and creative business, and he plans to participate in film creation after returning to Chongqing.

“I hope that we will make more people fall in love with films and know more about Chongqing.” Zhou Li stated that in the next few days of the event, she and her group members will have in-depth exchanges with more exhibitors, participate in forums, and establish connections with filmmakers from all over the world to attract investments in film creation in Chongqing.
