CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- What is Generation G? Han Jing, the curator of the ‘Generation G: The 27th Annual Exhibition of Undergraduates Works of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute’ starting on March 19, said in the exhibition, “The ‘G’ can refer to the changes in communication and times. Its meanings vary in different fields. It represents rapid development and infinite possibilities.” The exhibition provides an open platform for all undergraduates to showcase their youthful spirits.

The annual exhibition, hosted by Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, presided over by Professor Huang Zongxian, and curated by Han Jing, executive editor of ‘Contemporary Artists’, will last until April 9. Sichuan Fine Arts Institute has hosted 26 annual exhibitions of undergraduate students’ works. This year, a total of 215 works were received for the annual exhibition from different colleges, which cover art studies, design studies, drama, film and television studies, and art theories. Extramural experts were invited to participate in the evaluation of the annual exhibition works for the first time.

It is the first time that the annual exhibition of undergraduates’ works has been held as a theme exhibition, which breaks the normal annual exhibition model limited to on-campus teaching, said Han Jing. The theme ‘Generation G’ defines the academic significance of the annual exhibition of undergraduates’ works at Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and builds the annual exhibition into another cultural IP in Chongqing after the Blooming June, the Luo Zhongli Scholarship, the Tomorrow Sculpture Awards, the Constellation Award, the Light Art Festival, achieving the prosperity of literature and art in Chongqing and serving the society.

Additionally, experts and scholars from outside the university in the fields of art studies, design studies, drama, film and television studies, and art theory were invited to participate in the evaluation of the annual exhibition works for the first time so as to help students enhance the public functions of their works and provide more resources and platforms for young artists.
