CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- A few days ago, Mr. Hu and his family, who live in Suining City, Sichuan Province, presented a silk banner with the words "The World filled with Love and Dedication" to Yang Kaiye, a member of the Brave Cavalry Team of the Traffic Patrol Detachment of the Yubei Public Security Bureau, to express their heartfelt gratitude to him.

On March 19, when it was almost time to get off work, Yang Kaiye, a member of the Brave Cavalry Team, saw a message of asking for help in a WeChat group: an old lady in critical condition is badly in need of type AB platelets. The requirements for the platelets to be donated are very strict, that the donors are required not to have drunk alcohol or taken medicine in at least the past week. However, the blood bank has almost run out of blood, so the patient's family has to post a message of asking for help.

After seeing the message, Yang Kaiye found that he met the requirements of donating blood, so he immediately contacted Mr. Hu, the person seeking help, to verify the relevant information. Mr. Hu said that the patient was currently undergoing emergency treatment at a hospital in Suining, and her was in a critical condition. He asked if it was possible for Yang Kaiye to reach Suining on the same day. After learning the situation, Yang Kaiye immediately bought the ticket of the last bullet train to Suining that day without hesitation. After finishing his work, he immediately set off for Suining.

That evening, Yang Kaiye met Mr. Hu and his family in Suining and then went to the Suining blood station for physical examination. After passing the examination, Yang Kaiye began donating platelets early the next morning. The donation lasted for nearly 2 hours, and ultimately two units of platelets were successfully donated. These platelets were then transfused on the same day to the patient who was under emergency treatment.

After the donation, Yang Kaiye politely declined the reward offered by Mr. Hu and bought the latest ticket of the bullet train back to his post in Chongqing on the same day. He mentioned nothing about what happened to his colleagues.

However, Mr. Hu and his family kept Yang’s help in their mind. On March 25, Mr. Hu and his family came to the Traffic Patrol Detachment of the Yubei Public Security Bureau after the patient got better, and presented a silk banner to Yang Kaiye. Mr. Hu said, "Thank you, Officer Yang, for your timely help when the patient was in need of help, so that she could be saved timely." (Translated by Hu Chuanmin, Fathom Language Limited)
