CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- On March 28, the construction of the core area of Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New Town officially began, aiming to build a high-quality urban complex with complete functions and industrial clusters.

The person in charge of Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group Co., Ltd. said that Chongqingdong Railway Station is positioned as a gateway to the city and a new landmark. The Phrase I project is the one that will be mainly constructed, with a total development area of 188,000 square meters, in which the cultural exhibition center covers 70,000 square meters, blocks and commercial district cover 26,000 square meters, starred hotel cluster covers 51,400 square meters, and the high-end apartment office area covers 40,600 square meters. After they are completed, a pattern that Chongqingdong Railway Station and the New Town develop in an integrative manner will be formed.

The Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New Town area, by taking advantage of Xingtanglu Interchange, Zhanbei Interchange, Dongzhan Interchange, and elevated circular roads will make it more efficient for vehicles to drive between the entrance and exist of Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub and  three skeleton roads; through 16 regional roads such as Dongguang Road, Lianchi Road, and Silk 1st Road, by connecting Kaicheng Road, Xingtang Road, and surrounding road networks, it will serve vehicles within 3.47 square kilometers.

At the same time, the Chongqingdong Railway Station Hub New Town area, relying on the "five vertical and six horizontal" skeleton road network system built in the eastern trough valley, will connect with the belt freeways, Chongqing-Guizhou Expressway, Chongqing-Hunan Expressway, expressway along the Yangtze River and other expressways, link the Chengdu and Chongqing, and radiate and serve the Chongqing Northeast and Southeast areas; Across mountains and rivers, it will realize the rapid traffic connections with the core downtown area of the central trough valley and the eastern trough valley in the north-south direction.
