CHONGQING (CQNEWS) -- To facilitate travel during the Qingming Festival holiday, Chongqing City Transportation Development & Investment Group will partially extend the operating hours of some Chongqing Rail Transit (CRT) lines, and several lines will run until 0:00.

Reduce the train arrival interval

From April 4 to April 5, the interval time between trains for CRT Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 6 will be shortened to 220 seconds, 240 seconds, 180 seconds, and 320 seconds respectively.

At the same time, the company will increase the transport capacity of Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, and Line 6 at night to provide travelers with easy transport.

Optimize train routing

From April 4 to April 5, the Chaotianmen-Bishan section of Line 1 will be open to meet the travel demand of passengers from and to the University Town area; some trains of Line 6 will reverse their travel paths from Guangdianyuan after 16:30 to relieve the pressure of passenger flow in Jiefangbei.

Extend operating hours

From April 4 to April 5, Line 1, Line 2, Line 3, Line 6, and Line 10, which experience large passenger flow, will partially extend their operating hours by one hour and run until 0:00.

From April 3 to April 6, the operating hours of Loop Line will be increased by 30 minutes every day.

After the implementation of the adjustment scheme begins, the CRT network is expected to take about 5.05 million passengers per day from April 4 to April 5, an increase of about 520,000 passengers over the weekend. Meanwhile, the maximum number of operating trains on the CRT network will be 252, an increase of 17 trains compared to the weekends.
